Ketaki Sheth (b. 1957)

Ketaki Sheth is Mumbai based photographer known for her evocative and insightful images. Born in Mumbai, India, she has made significant contributions to the field of photography, capturing diverse aspects of Indian life and culture.

Ketaki Sheth's work often reflects a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the human condition. She has explored various themes in her photography, including portraits, landscapes, and the documentation of everyday life. Her images convey a sense of intimacy and authenticity, offering viewers a unique perspective on the subjects she captures.

One of her notable projects is “Bombay Mix” series of photographs.  It brings together the street photographs taken between 1988 and 2004. Sheth’s Bombay is subtle, considered, and thoughtful, even when it is outwardly brutal. Her work provides a nuanced and humanistic portrayal of the diverse tapestry of Indian society.
