K.G. Subramanyan was a renowned Indian artist, sculptor, and educator.
He studied at Kala Bhavana, the art school at Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan, where he came under the influence of Rabindranath Tagore and the teachings of Nandalal Bose. Subramanyan was associated with the Madras Art Movement and the Progressive Painters' Association. He later studied at the Slade School of Art in London.
K.G. Subramanyan's art reflected a fusion of traditional Indian art forms with a modernist approach. He worked with various mediums, including painting, sculpture, terracotta, and murals. His work often explored themes from Indian folklore, mythology, and everyday life. He was known for his narrative style, intricate details, and use of vibrant colors.
